Epilogue
I have seen great birds
Roosting in the wind,
Miles of empty space
Where no roads wander.
I have seen the desert
At the break of dawn,
And the great, full-bodied moon
Pressing its smoky face
Against the cool, November night.
Now I will go to the city,
Where passion curls around every
corner
Like a small, yellow flame
That softly sears
The edge of darkened pages.
